This page is a sub-section of Richard Holland and his wife Bethany Barnes. It shows the family and descendants of their first child, Etta Holland and her husband Bryant Cuddington. Etta and Bryant Cuddington had twelve children. Richard Holland is son of Absalom Holland.

1. Etta Holland, first child of Richard Holland and
Bethany Barnes, was born 22 January 1872 and died 27 April
1927. After the death of her parents when she was 10, Etta lived with her uncle
William W. Holland for a short time, then lived with the Enoch Edgerton
family. She was married at the home of
Enoch Edgerton by Elder J. H. Worley on 28 February 1892 to James Bryant Cuddington who was born 16 April 1866 in Wayne County, North Carolina and died
29 March 1920. Both are buried in Holly Springs Cemetery.

1. Lloyd Cicero Cuddington was born 25 February 1893. He did not marry.
2. Richard Herman Cuddington was born 19
July 1894 in Wayne County, North Carolina. He died 15 May 1949 in Goldsboro Hospital and was
buried in Barden Cemetery. He married 2 November 1916 Mattie Irene Barden, daughter of David
Barden and Sallie Radford. Mattie was born 10 January 1895, died 19 February 1964, and was buried
in Barden Cemetery.

1. James Cedric Cuddington was born 28 August 1917 in Wayne County, North Carolina; married Margaret Edmundson on 25 December 1942.
2. Lester Barden Cuddington was born 14 November 1919 in Wayne County, North Carolina. He married Frances Williamson.
3. Reilly Herman Cuddington was born 16 January 1921 in Duplin County, North Carolina.
4. Mattie Ann Cuddington was born 24 June 1932 in Wayne County, North Carolina. She married Paul W. Rothlinger on 17 December 1948.
5. Mary Frances Cuddington was born 27 December 1934.
3. Vernon Clifford Cuddington was born 18 November 1895 in Wayne County,
North Carolina, died 29 December 1960, and was buried in Raines Crossroads Cemetery. He married
Carrie Lewis in July 1916. She was born 9 January 1898 in Johnston County, North Carolina.

1. Vernon Cuddington was born 3 September 1917 in Wayne County, North Carolina. He died 3 September 1917 and was buried in Old Sasser Mill Cemetery.
2. Rachel Cuddington was born and died 1 July 1918 in Wayne County, North Carolina; buried in Old Sasser Mill Cemetery.
3. Ethel Cuddington was born 23 June 1919 in Johnston County, North Carolina. She died 31 August 1920 and was buried in Old Sasser Mill Cemetery.
4. James Cuddington was born 26 April1922 in Wayne County, North Carolina. He died 30 August 1922 and was buried in Old Sasser Mill Cemetery.
5. Aubrey Wreb Cuddington was born 21 September 1924
in Wayne County, North Carolina. He married Lois Edgerton on 21 June 1944. She
was born 15 May 1927 in Wayne County, North Carolina, daughter of Roland G. Edgerton and Linda
Brogden.

1. Richard E. Cuddington was born 20 September 1947 in Johnston County, North Carolina.
2. Infant boy, born and died 26 April 1951 in Wayne County, North Carolina.
3. Brenda Lois Cuddington was born 9 June 1953 in Wayne County, North Carolina.
6. Donald Cuddington died at birth and was buried in Old Sasser Mill Cemetery.
7. Ernestine Cuddington died at birth and was buried in Old Sasser Mill Cemetery.
8. Betty Jean Rose, foster daughter, was born 8 September 1935 in Kenly, Johnston County, North Carolina.
4. Joseph Murray Cuddington was
born 27 June 1897. He married Ide Gertrude Mumford on 2 October 1920. She was born 22
September 1902, the daughter of John Mumford and Suzzie Taylor. She died 4 August 1963, and
was buried in Fremont Cemetery in Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina.

1. Joseph Mumford Cuddington was born 3 January 1922. He married
Dorothy Lee Phillips on 19 January 1946. She was born 19 September 1925, daughter of Millard
Phillips and Ellen Evans.

2. Janice Sue Cuddington was born 28 January 1949.

2. Marjorie Earle Cuddington was born 15 September
1924. She married John David Gainus who was born 3 December 1920, the son of Joe Henry
Gainus and Vyne Pennuel.

1. Johnny Gainus was born 1 May 1952.
2. David Earl Gainus was born 1 September 1954. He died 8 September 1961, and was buried in Gurnes Cemetery, Route 1, Albertson, Duplin County, North Carolina.
3. Murray Timothy Gainus was born 27 March 1962.
3. Imogean Cuddington was born 2 January 1931. She married James
Donnahue Winders who was born 7 February 1928, the son of Benjamin Winders and Myrtic P.
Minshew.

5. Bethany Cherry Cuddington was born 12 January 1899. She married
Jesse James Hawley on 11 December 1927. He was born 12 May 1903 in Wayne County, North
Carolina, the son of James Hawley.

January 1928 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He married Margaret Ann Grant who was born 28

2. Bethany Marie Hawley was born 12 October 1932 in Johnston County, North Carolina. She married Charles Williams 10 December 1955. She died 29 November 1960, and was buried at Stoney Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Wayne County, North Carolina.
3. Charles Ray Hawley was born 26 April 1934 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He married Dorothy Joyce Wilson on 31 August 1963. She was born 29 January 1946, daughter of Owen Hubert Wilson.
4. Wreb Eugene Hawley was born 23 January 1938 in Wayne County, North Carolina.
6. Wreb Cobb Cuddington was born 13 November 1900. He died 29 March 1920, and was buried in Holly Springs Cemetery.

June 1904 in Wayne County, North Carolina. She married Hugh Gordon Aycock on 2 December

9. Zachary Videll Cuddington was

October 1925. He was born 22 September 1906 in Johnston County, North Carolina.
Maude died 4 April 1939, at age 29. She was buried in the Stancil Cemetery.

North Carolina. She was married on 11 April 1943 to James Ottis Montgomery. He was born

1. Jerry Dennis Montgomery was born 15 December 1945 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He married Linda Kaye Strickland, born 10 March 1947.

1930 in Johnston County, North Carolina. She was married on 28 April 1946 to Elmer Lewis
who was born 19 September 1921 in Johnston County, North Carolina.

4. Buford Landon Stancil was born 29 September 1936 in Johnston County,
North Carolina. He was married on 8 May 1955 to Linda Jo Godwin who was born 7
December 1938.

11. Myrtle Irene Cuddington was born 1 June 1913
in Wayne County, North Carolina. She married Willie Abner Hall on 6 December 1933. He
was born 12 October 1911 in Wayne County, North Carolina, son of Samuel McGowen Hall (b. 17 April
1873 in Anderson County, South Carolina, son of George Washington Hall and Sarah Ann Gambrell)
and Nora Lee (daughter of Joab A. Lee and Betty Carraway Singleton). Willie Abner Hall was
the ninth child of ten siblings. One of his siblings was Gracie Violet Hall Turner, born
10 October 1907.74

Carolina. She married 28 October 1955 William Leslie Berry, born in 1929 in Wayne County,
